Caleb Williams Impresses at Pro Day, Eyes No. 1 Overall Pick in NFL Draft
Caleb Williams, the highly anticipated top pick in the upcoming NFL draft, wowed representatives from all 32 NFL teams during his pro day at USC. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner showcased his skills and threw the ball for the first time since the end of the 2023 college football season.
Despite not participating in medical testing, measurements, or drills at the recent NFL scouting combine, Williams remains confident in his abilities. He expressed his belief that he will be the top overall draft pick and emphasized the hard work he has put in to achieve that.
With an impressive college career that includes 10,082 passing yards, 93 touchdown passes, and 27 rushing touchdowns, Williams has drawn significant attention from teams like the Chicago Bears, who hold the No. 1 overall pick. General Manager Ryan Poles, coach Matt Eberflus, and wide receiver Keenan Allen were among the representatives sent by the Bears to watch Williams during his pro day.
During the event, Williams not only displayed excellent timing and accuracy on his passes but also interacted with Bears representatives and his parents. He is focused on building a positive relationship with the team and has already met with them to discuss his potential future with the organization.
At a playing weight of approximately 217 pounds, Williams is prepared to face the physicality of larger defenders in the NFL. With excitement and readiness for the upcoming draft, he is embracing the moment he has been working towards and is eager to begin his professional football career.
