Canton Rugby Club and Olympian Carlin Isles have joined forces to bring an exciting series of indoor rugby clinics to the Hall of Fame Village Center for Performance indoor sports dome. The partnership aims to introduce rugby to new players and provide opportunities for existing players to further develop their skills.
The first clinic, scheduled for December 12 from 6 to 8 p.m., is a free session for kids in grades K-12. This introductory clinic is open to both kids and adults who are interested in learning more about rugby. The session will serve as a gateway for newcomers to the sport, allowing them to experience the exhilaration and camaraderie that rugby offers.
Following the initial clinic, eight skills clinics will be conducted on consecutive Tuesdays, starting from January 9, 2024. These clinics are designed for youth and adult players who wish to enhance their rugby abilities. Participants in grades K-8 will have their session from 6-7 p.m., while high school and adult players will participate from 6-8 p.m.
Registration is essential for all clinics, with a flat rate of $50 for the eight skills clinics. However, players who have previously been part of any rugby program under the Canton Rugby 501(c)(3) organization will receive a discounted rate of $32. In addition to the invaluable coaching and training they will receive, all participants who register for the skills clinics will also be treated to a free T-shirt and an autographed photo of Carlin Isles, making this an opportunity too good to miss.
Carlin Isles, a two-time Olympian with the US national rugby sevens team and a graduate of Jackson High School, will play an active role in guiding and mentoring players of all ages during the clinics. His expertise and experience will undoubtedly be invaluable in helping participants elevate their game.
In a cherry on top, players will have the unique opportunity to work with guest coaches hailing from top Collegiate Level Rugby programs. This promises to be an incredible chance for aspiring rugby stars to learn from some of the best in the sport.
