Manchester United has secured a major signing for their forward line as they announced an agreement with Atalanta for the transfer of Rasmus Hojlund. The deal is reportedly worth €75million, with an additional €10million in performance-related add-ons.
The highly-rated 20-year-old forward is set to sign a five-year contract, with the option of extending it for another year. Atalanta had initially demanded €100million for Hojlund, but ultimately agreed to the reduced fee after negotiations with United.
The Manchester club faced competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who also made a bid of €50million for the young Danish sensation. United initially offered the same amount, but added €10million in add-ons to sweeten the deal.
Hojlund expressed his desire to leave Atalanta amidst interest from both United and PSG. The talented forward joined Atalanta last summer and made an immediate impact, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in 31 Serie A games.
His impressive performances didn’t stop there, as Hojlund shone during the Euro 2024 qualifiers, scoring five goals in just two games. His standout moment came in a match against Finland, where he netted a memorable hat-trick.
With this signing, Hojlund will become Manchester United’s third addition this summer, following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana. The club’s transfer window has been a busy one, as they strive to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Fans of Forever Sports Online can now look forward to seeing Hojlund in action at Old Trafford, as he joins the Red Devils’ attacking ranks. The young forward has already showcased his potential and is expected to make a significant impact in the Premier League. United supporters will be hoping that his arrival will contribute to a successful campaign for their team.
