Former corrections officer in Rugby, N.D. is facing serious felony charges for alleged sexual assault of two female inmates. Anthony Aadland has been charged with two C-felony charges of sexual abuse of a ward, with accusations of engaging in inappropriate relationships with the inmates.
According to reports, Aadland is accused of having encounters with the inmates in areas of the jail that were not monitored by cameras. The inmates also claim that Aadland showed them inappropriate photos on his cell phone.
The jail administrator has confirmed Aadland’s termination and arrest, expressing deep concern over the allegations and emphasizing zero tolerance for any staff misconduct. Aadland’s preliminary hearing and arraignment are scheduled for May 13 in Pierce County.
